APPLETON, Wis. — The North Wisconsin chapter of the Bearded Villains will host its 2nd Annual Octoberfest Beard Competition on Saturday, September 26, at Appleton Cigar Company. The event is open to the public, with all funds raised directly benefiting Courage Incorporated, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping physically disabled individuals, disabled veterans, and those living with chronic or terminal illnesses participate in free all-inclusive outdoor adventures.
Courage Incorporated provides barrier-free access to outdoor wilderness-based excursions at no cost to participants. To support this mission, the Bearded Villains are inviting community members, spectators, and competitors to take part in the festivities. Despite their moniker, the Bearded Villains aren’t villains at all – they are a philanthropic fraternal collective guided by their mission statement: “Dedicated to the betterment of mankind through fraternity, charity, and kindness.”
Registration for competitors is $10 per entrant, with 100% of proceeds supporting Courage Incorporated’s programs. Donations are welcome. The general public is encouraged to attend, cheer on the competitors, and support the cause.
